It was announced on Tuesday that the "Iron Fist" active protection system (APS) for armored vehicles, produced by Israel Military Industries, has passed a series of operational tests carried out by the United States Department of Defense.The tests were part of a Congressional decision to test American and foreign-made APS.

The Iron Fist consists of radar by the Netanya-based Rada Electronic Industries to detect rockets, shells, anti-tank guided missiles and other threats. Other components of the system operate countermeasures to disrupt or destroy the threats. In Hebrew the system is known as "Chetz Dorban" (Porcupine Quill).
