Counterterrorism advisor John Brennan said Wednesday that the United States will rely more on unmanned aerial vehicles and quick strikes in the war against the Al-Qaeda terror network. While the new approach includes many aspects of the policy of former U.S. president George W. Bush, it does not rely as much on massive forces, as were deployed in Iraq.

Speaking at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, Brennan said, "This does not require a 'global' war," he said. "But it does require a focus on specific regions."
