Outgoing Shin Bet head Yuval Diskin, and his replacement Yoram Cohen, reportedly received expensive gifts from none other than Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas. A PA official ordered the gifts from Hatzorfim, a chain of stores specializing in crafting silver.

The gifts included a message from Abbas. The message for Diskin included a note of thanks for his cooperation, while that intended for Cohen expressed hope for productive cooperation in the future.

The Shin Bet declined to confirm or deny the report, stating only that Shin Bet officials comply with state guidelines regarding the acceptance of gifts.
