The government authorized on Sunday an expansion of the program giving Israeli children free basic dental care. Beginning July 1, the program will cover children up to the age of 10, instead of until the current age of 8. Eventually – within 2 years - the plan is to expand coverage up to age 14.

According to Health Ministry statistics, 190,000 children received treatment under the program between July 2010 and March 2011.
