The Infrastructures Ministry gave Noble Energy Mediterranean permission on Friday to carry out drilling for oil and natural gas at the Leviathan 3 installation. The ministry also ordered the continuation of monitoring and control of drilling at Leviathan 2, and preparations to seal it.
Drilling was stopped at Leviathan 2 in mid May, after a problem was found in the cementing of the installation. The approval for drilling at Leviathan 3 was granted after the company submitted plans that included steps to make sure the problem does not happen again.
