Itzik Elrov, who initiated the cottage cheese boycott, said on Sunday that he had no idea that his Facebook petition would have such an effect.
“I did not know that it would take off this way,” Elrov told Arutz Sheva’s Hebrew-language service. “It started when I saw that the price of cottage is hurting many people, and not just my family and my friends, so I decided to take an initiative and I’m glad the public has joined the fight.”
Elrov added that he got many enthusiastic responses to the boycott and noted that “the public is supporting the fight and I hope it is able to overcome the desire to go and buy cottage cheese; they need to know that this is in their favor.”
