Noble Given Nod to Develop Noa North

The oil department of the National Infrastructures Ministry gave the Noble Energy company approval Sunday evening to start developing the Noa North natural gas field, where the Noa-1 offshore drilling platform is located. The approval was given in light of an anticipated shortage in 2012, between the time that the "Tethys Sea" reservoir is depleted and when development of the Tamar gas field is expected to be complete.

Noble estimates the Noa field to contain 1.2 billion cubic meters. The company was ordered to return with drilling and development plans by July 15th.
