Brigadier General Nitzan Alon, who commands the Judea and Samaria Division of the Israel Defense Forces, sent a letter to commanders in the division, asking them to investigate soldiers who are residents of Judea and Samaria, who are likely, in his words, to leak information about evictions from outpost communities, according to Israel Defense Forces Radio. The letter follows two incidents this year: one in which a soldier did not relay orders to perform an eviction; the other, in which a soldier passed information which allowed people to evade troops when they went to Homesh, which was uprooted by the government in the Disengagement from northern Samaria in 2005.
In his letter, Alon said, "We must interview the soldiers with potential to harm state security and place them , accordingly, in functions where they are not exposed to sensitive information."
