Jordan may buy a third of its natural gas from Israel's Tamar offshore field, according to a Clal Finance analyst cited Thursday report by Globes. Analyst Yaron Zar said, "The unreliability of Egyptian gas might lead Jordan to buy at least one billion cubic meters of gas a year from Tamar." Jordan currently buys most of the three billion cubic meters of gas it needs annually from Egypt.
The report was released as Egypt prepared to resume deliveries of the fuel to Israel and Jordan following the latest in a series of attacks on the pipeline.
