Ido Zoldan of Shavei Shomron, who was murdered by terrorists near the Samarian Jewish community of Kedumin in November, 2007, was remembered Thursday evening, when a Torah scroll in his memory was dedicated and put into service in the Mount of Olives communit of Maale Hazeitim.
Ido's father Nachman, a contractor for the neighborhood, told those in attendance, "This day is very special, the completion of a Torah Scroll and placing it here... a very special day. But writing the Torah Scroll in the memory of our murdered son Idodi in a Jewish neigborhood is even more special. Because he was really a builder of Jerusalem... He built the Land of Israel with his own hands, with Jewish labor, dedication, & holiness. Hew was supposed to lead the construction of this neghborhood, but he did not merit to do so... But when we install a Torah Scroll after more than three and a half years of construction which we carried out through holiness and purity it's a great thing that we have the merit to be doing."
