Twelve Jerusalem residents were given the “Yakir Yerushalayim” prize on Wednesday for their contributions to life in the city. The prizes were handed out in a ceremony in David's Citadel.
Prizes were given to: author Uri Orlev, research institute head Liora Ahimeir, Eliezer Bar-Yosef, tour guide Yehudah Ziv, former athlete Adin Talber, researcher Ben-Tzion Yehoshua, educator Barbara Levin, Rabbi Gidon Langman, dentist Adit Komjiski-Kay, founder of the Pelach school Penina Rezenblatt, Yad Vashem head Avner Shalev, and journalist Yitzchak Shimoni.
