Rabbi Yaakov Shapira, head of the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in Jerusalem, blessed Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for coming to take part in the yeshiva’s Jerusalem Day celebrations on Tuesday evening.
“We’re happy that you came to participate in the celebrations of Jerusalem Day,” Rabbi Shapira told Netanyahu.
“When we heard the words of the Prime Minister in Congress, we heard not just the things he said but also the voices,” continued the rabbi. “We heard the love and solidarity in his words and we felt that the words came not just out of his heart, but also from the heart of Jerusalem.
“I read these words from paper, but believe me, they come from the heart, especially in light of the bond you had with my father of blessed memory,” Rabbi Shapira concluded.
