At least 20 protesters were killed in Yemen Monday morning when security forces broke up a sit-in in the city of Taez, Yemen's second largest city. The protests had been going on  for four months. The government had no comment on the matter.

Several explosions were heard Sunday night in Sa'ana, the country's capital. Their origin was not known.
