MK Danny Danon (Likud), who also chairs World Likud, spoke on Sunday of his feelings in light of recent statements by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu which have been said to be consistent with the platform of rival party Kadima.
“We are far from being Kadima,” Danon told Arutz Sheva’s Hebrew website. “We will not allow any leader to turn the Likud into Kadima 2, not even Netanyahu. Some of the things he has said do not represent the Likud and were not approved by the Likud Central Committee. Perhaps he himself believes things and I am unsure of that, but they do not represent the Likud.”
Danon also offered his own solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
“We have to clarify that there is no partner for leftist moves which only take us backwards,” he said. “We should offer ‘blocs’, but Palestinian ones and not Jewish ones.”
