An El Al flight with more than 200 passengers landed safely at Ben Gurion Airport, Voice of Israel radio reported.
Earlier, Israel’s Airport Authority said that the plane encountered a technical difficulty and was diffusing gas over the Mediterranean as it made its way back to Israel.
Voice of Israel radio reported that shortly after taking off from Ben Gurion Airport towards Newark Airport, the pilot noticed a failure in one of the wheels. Upon reporting the failure he was instructed to return to Israel.
