Israeli Bone Cell Experiment to Take off with Endeavor Shuttle

Monday’s scheduled launch of the Endeavor space shuttle will carry a Hebrew University experiment that began on the 2003 Columbia space shuttle that crashed and killed Israeli asrtronaut Ilan Ramon and the rest of the team.

The launch eight years ago carried a cell culture device, which contained adult stem cells as part of experimental work carried out by Prof. Dan Gazit, of the Skeletal Biotechnology Laboratory of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
