Two people were arrested Wednesday on suspicion of trying to buy weapons in order to attack New York synagogues. Security sources in the city said Thursday that one of the detainees was a Muslim from northern Africa. The sources did not identify the synagogues which were targeted.
The two tried reportedly already had weapons. They tried to buy hand grenades and Kalashnikov rifles.
