The Jewish National Fund (Keren Kayemet) has begun a massive tree planting campaign in the Gaza border area. The trees will help protect towns, farms and roads from Kassam rockets and mortar shells fired by Gaza Arab terrorists, who usually aim their missiles visually, firing in the direction of targets.

The project will include planting 12 kilometers of trees for 11 towns in the Gaza border area. Most of the trees to be planted will be eucalyptuses, which grow tall – they can be expected to reach about 8 meters within 5 years – thus helping with the defense needs of the communities.
