Businessman Donald Trump, who is a possible Republican presidential candidate, said on Wednesday that Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden would not have been killed without the use of enhanced interrogation methods against terrorism captives in U.S. military prisons.

Speaking to a business organization in New Hampshire, Trump said interrogation methods such as waterboarding (which simulates drowning) and other harsh treatment were necessary to enable bin Laden’s killing. He noted that such methods should be called torture.
