Tunisian authorities have arrested nearly 200 people after the latest series of anti-government protests culminated in a street battle over the weekend in the capital Tunis, the state-run TAP news agency reported on Tuesday.
According to the report, security officials and the army made the arrests in raids on Monday and Tuesday across the country. The protesters were charged with attacking police with stones, breaking a recently imposed curfew, theft and vandalism.
