The official value of the shekel declined an average of .304 percent Friday against the other currencies on the Bank of Israel's foreign exchange list. The United States dollar was fixed at NIS 3.447, up 1.174 percent from Thursday's rate. The Euro fell .92 percent to 5.0063 shekels, and the pound sterling was set at NIS 5.6464, up .452 percent.

Other large increases were reported by the Australia dollar, which rose 1.139 to 3.6767 shekels, the Jordania dina, which was set at NIS 4.8618, up 1.069 percent, and the Egyptian lira, which rose 1.204 percent to .58 shekels. The Norwegian krone fell 1.179 percent to .6289 shekels and the Danish krone was set at NIS .6714, down .915 percent.
