Environment Minister Gilad Erdan has asked Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to ask the Americans during his speech in Congress later this month to support the release of Jonathan Pollard.

“On the eve of your appearance before members of Congress and as a follow up to your letter to the President of the United States of January this year, I turn to you requesting that you turn in your speech to members of Congress and ask for their support in Jonathan’s release,” Erdan wrote in a letter to Netanyahu.

“We are at a critical point in regards to Pollard’s health condition and fate,” added Erdan. “With every day that goes by we may find out that it is too late. A clear support of Senators and Representatives could significantly affect the long-awaited decision of President Obama to release Jonathan.”
