A man from east Jerusalem died on Wednesday at Hadassah Hospital after taking diet pills which are suspected of being phony. The pills were likely smuggled from Lebanon or Jordan and contained an active drug substance.
The Ministry of Health is examining whether there is a connection between these drugs and a woman’s hospitalization at Sha’ar Menashe Psychiatric Hospital after consuming pills by the name “Slim Extreme.” A 16-year-old boy was also admitted to Assaf Harofeh Hospital after swallowing the same pills.
