Israeli police have raised their security level in the country in the wake of the elimination of Osama Bin-Laden. Police officials said that there was a fear that radical Islamist elements would attempt to undertake terror attacks against Israelis in revenge for the killing of Bin-Laden. Police Special Operations director Nissim Mor instructed commanders to deploy an increased police presence at public venues.
Egypt also raised its security level in the wake of the elimination of Bin-Laden. Security was tightened around the U.S. and British embassies in Cairo, after rumors spread of an anti-American demonstration to protest the elimination of Bin-Laden. Extra forces have been placed in tourist areas, and the authorities are prepared to break up any demonstrations in support of Bin-Laden, reports from Egypt said.
