The Asian Physics Olympiad for youth kicked off on Sunday and this year it is being hosted for the first time by Israel.
120 competitors will participate in the Olympiad, from the following countries: India, Mongolia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Russia, Australia, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, China, Tajikistan and Israel.
The Olympiad, which is being held in Israel under the direction of the Ministry of Education and Tel Aviv University, is a kind of preparation for the International Physics Olympiad which will be held in July in Bangkok.
