Most indexes on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange finished Thursday's short trading day with modest gains. The TA composite index rose .42 percent to 1,213.22, reflecting the TA 100, which closed at 1,221.59, up .41 percent. While the Maof 25 most-widely-invested issues rose only .2 percent, they set a new record closing of 1,341.89.

The oil and natural gas issues rose .69 percent to 1,356.66, while the communications and media issues finished the day at 1,171.16, up .92 percent. Technology stocks did better, rising 2.01 percent to 291.45. The market will be closed until Tuesday because of the end of the Pesach (Passover) holiday.
