People who came to Reform synagogue Ra'anan in Ra'anana Thursday morning that large rocks had been thrown at the facility, which includes a kindergarden, and the words "Zeh Hitchil" (It has begun) had been sprayed on the walls, according to Kol Yisrael government radio. A complaint was filed with the police.
Rabbi Gilad Kariv, who heads the Reform movement in Israel, said, "The recurring damage to the synagogue will not prevent us from faithfully serving the many residents of Ra'anan who are committed to the open and pluralistic character of the city. We expect the leaders of the community to stand alongside the congregation and support its activities in a firm, public way."
