President Shimon Peres met on Monday with U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, in Washington. The two discussed the changes in the Middle East, the peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and on ways of strengthening ties between the two countries.
“This is a time of many challenges and many opportunities,” said Clinton before the meeting. She added that Peres is “the youngest 88-year-old I know” and said that she is “looking forward to the important conversations with him that will highlight the friendship between our two countries.”
