      UK Donates Water Scooter to ZAKA Rescue Team


      The British government has donated a water scooter to the ZAKA rescue team in a special ceremony on Friday. British Ambassador Matthew Gould praised the team for their efforts in rescuing civilians and lamented the recent rocket attacks in the south and the death of Mary Gardner, the British woman killed in the Jerusalem terrorist attack on Wednesday.  He stated that recent events "really brought home in a very sad way how your work is essential."

      The new underwater scooter in inteded to help rescue teams reach victims beneath the surface of the water. 

      ZAKA is a Hebrew acronym for abbreviation for Zihuy Korbanot Ason, or, Disaster Victim Identification. It is comprised of volunteers that provide first aid and rescue services.
