Russia Imposes Arms Embargo on Libya

Russia on Thursday imposed an arms embargo on Libya. Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed an order to banning the export of arms, ammunition and military equipment to the country, Russian media reported. Russia thus complied with the UN Security Council's imposition of an arms embargo to Libya, which was set on February 26.

Earlier this week, U.S. President Barack H. Obama conferred with British Prime Minister David Cameron on further action which could be taken against Libya, including imposing a total embargo on the country and closing its air space.
