Wedding in Hurva Synagogue after 63 Years

The Hurva Synagogue in the Old City of Jerusalem was the site of a wedding on Tuesday, the first time a marriage has been held at the site since 1948. Another wedding is to be held in the Hurva on Sunday.

The historic synagogue was recently rebuilt after having been demolished in 1948 by the invading Jordanian army. It was first built in 1701 and destroyed 20 years later, then rebuilt in 1864.
