The Supreme Court suggested on Monday that director Muhamad Bakri apologize for having produced the movie "Jenin, Jenin", which falsely accused Israeli soldiers of a massacre during Operation Defensive Wall against terror originating in the Samarian Palestinian Authority City in 2002.
The advise came at the opening of a hearing into the appeal by reservists against a decision by Tel Aviv District Court Judge Michal Nadav that although the film was libelous, the soldiers were a non-specific public, and only the attorney general could take action against Bakri. While the attorney general refused to do so, he joined the reservists' civil action. Attorneys for the reservists refused to accept the court's suggestion to Bakri.
