Opponents of Muammar Qaddafi have reportedly taken a city right outside Libya's capital of Tripoli, the last stronghold of Qaddafi rule. The city of Zawiya was the scene of a major battle Saturday, with at least 50 people killed in fighting between rebels and Qaddafi loyalists.

Witnesses said Sunday afternoon that the rebel flag had been hoisted in Zawiya's main square, and that hundreds of people had gathered there to celebrate.
