Workers at the ports of Haifa, Eilat and Ashdod resumed activity, after closing the ports earlier Thursday. The opening came after the Histadrut announced that the government had agreed to make up a discrepancy in a recent pension increase which some of the workers did not get, and that the government promised to continue discussing an increase in pensions for retired port workers.

Earlier, the Finance Ministry called the strike “unjustified,” since port workers currently had a work contract.
