Saif al-Islam Qaddafi, son of the Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, on Thursday said that he would welcome foreign reporters visiting the country in order to see what has been happening inside Libya. In a televised speech, the younger Qaddafi said that he wanted reporters to come and see whether the stories of the Libyan army's bombardment of its citizens was true.
The U.S. on Wednesday said that it would lead the effort to impose sanctions, and possibly conduct a NATO military operation, if Libya continued to bomb protesters.
