Among the well-known authors at the Jerusalem International Book Fair will be Umberto Eco, the best-selling Italian author of The Name of the Rose and Foucault's Pendulum. Eco said that he would never agree top boycott the fair because it is being held in Israel. He said such a boycott would be a "form of racism" and "absolutely crazy."
The Jerusalem International Book Fair is continuing at the ICC Jerusalem-International Convention Center -- known in Hebrew as Binyanei Ha'uma through Friday. First held in 1963, fair is a biennial event which draws over 1,200 publishers from more that 40 countries who display more than 100,000 books in different languages.
