An official of the Civil Administration, Amram Kabilo, was convicted Monday on charges of accepting bribes to issue licenses for PA Arabs to work in Israel. The Arabs were given permits to work in Jewish towns in exchange for cash payments and other benefits, a Jerusalem court decided.
The bribery took place between 2007 and 2009, the indictment against Kabilo said. Among those who gave him payments were building contractors, a well as individual PA Arabs. Sentencing will take place at a later date.
