Fire broke out Saturday at a synagogue in Modi'in Illit in the Kiryat Sefer neighborhood. The volunteer fire department and the Hatzalah emergency rescue organization were called to the scene. Synagogue worshipers evacuated the premises to avid smoke inhalation.
An initial investigation revealed that the fire broke out after children threw firecrackers .
