Organizations in the United States working for the release of Jonathan Pollard have started a media campaign calling on people to call the White House and ask President Barack Obama to release him. A 30-second video clip airing on the Cable News Network, Fox News and MSNBC is the first phase of the campaign to illustrate the widening of support for Pollard's release among senior government officials and legal figures, as well as recognized respected figures in the intelligence community.
The clip's announcer notes that Pollard has served 25 years of a life sentence for passing classified information from the U.S. to Israel, longer than anyone else has served on similar charges.
