The London Times reported Thursday that Saudi King Abdullah has asked the United States to continue supporting beleaguered Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. If the U.S. withdrew financial support from Egypt, then the Saudis would make up that money, Abdullah reportedly told U.S. President Barack H. Obama.

Abdullah said that Mubarak was a stabilizing influence in the region, and that it was in everyone's interest to allow him to finish out his presidential term.
