Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was one of a number of regional and world leaders who discussed the situation in Egypt Sunday evening with United States President Barack Obama. The president also spoke with King Abdullah II of Jordan, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and British Prime Minister David Cameron.

The White House said Obama repeated his opposition to violence, and called for human rights and a transition to a government that will respond to the aspirations of the Egyptian people.
