The Israeli embassy in Cairo is closed on Sunday, by order of the Foreign Ministry, a spokesperson said. All essential diplomatic activity will be conducted at the home of the ambassador. Non-essential personnel have already been evacuated, and Israelis remaining in Cairo have been instructed to keep a low profile. None of the protests have been aimed at Israelis yet, the Ministry said.

The Ministry added that it suggests that all Israelis in Sinai return home as soon as possible. On Saturday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry made a similar request, saying it could not guarantee the safety of Israelis in Egypt, given the unrest.
