Apparently fearing that its own citizens will be inspired to protest, the Chinese government has blocked all internet searches with the term “Egypt,” reports by bloggers said. Searches for “Egypt” are met with a screen that says that “results may not be displayed, according to the law.”

Despite the internet ban on Egypt, Chinese media have accurately reported the events in the country on television, Western monitors of Chinese media said.
