In response to the documents being published by Al-Jazeera that purport to show how the Palestinian Authority was ready to compromise on several points in negotiations with Israel, the PA has itself released official documents that show that the PA demanded the full withdrawal of Israel from all of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem. The documents, presented to Israel last June, say that “the end of the occupation, including Israeli withdrawal from all territories, including air space and water, and the cessation of all Israeli rule in the designated area, is a condition for the establishment of an independent state and the end of the conflict.”
The document also demands that the PA be allowed to establish a defense force and acquire weapons as needed to defend itself. It also demands that third countries supply the weapons and ensure security during the period of Israeli withdrawal.
