The Foreign Ministry issued a warning to Israelis, advising them not to travel to Egypt, including to Sinai, in the coming days. The warning was issued in the wake of violent protests Wednesday against the government of President Hosni Mubarak.

Trading on the Cairo Stock Exchange was halted on Thursday morning, after shares plunged about 10%. Thursday's fall followed a large decline in stock prices Wednesday. Shares fell 6% on Wednesday when authorities intervened to stop trading.
