Environment Minister Gilad Erdan appealed to Defense Minister Ehud Barak Tuesday to immediately freeze construction in the PA city of Rawabi, being built near Ramallah. In a letter to Barak, Erdan write that although infrastructure construction was ongoing, there were still no solutions for sewage, water supply, electricity, and other crucial factors. “As long as there are no solutions to these issues, which can cause major environmental problems, the project should be frozen,” he wrote.

Speaking to Arutz 7, Erdan's office said that the PA office in charge of building Rawabi had yet to respond to questions posed by the Environment Ministry months ago on the environmental issues involved.
