Poll: Jerusalem Arabs Prefer Israel to PA

An Arab-American poll of eastern Jerusalem Arabs shows a preference for Israel over the Palestinian Authority (PA), according to a Friday report in the Yisrael Hayom (Israel Today) newspaper. About 35 percent of those surveyed said that they would want to live under Israeli sovereignty with Israeli citizenship if the capital were divided as part of a peace agreement. Thirty percent said they would prefer citizens of a PA state, and 30 percent preferred not to answer or said they had not decided.

Forty percent of those surveyed said they would move to the Israeli side to remain Israeli citizens, while 29 percent said they would move to the PA side if their current homes were determined to be in the Israeli sector.
