Chairman Yehudah Bar-Or of the national union of taxi drivers told the Knesset State Control Committee on Tuesday that taxi fares will be going up four percent in about a month. His words were backed up by Dafna Ein-Dor, economics manager in the Transportation Ministry during a hearing on price increases.
Committee chairman Yoel Hasson accused the government of targetting the middle and lower classes. He said the government promised tax reductions but raised indirect taxes.
