The luxurious Waldorf Astoria hotel chain has announced that it will open a second hotel in Israel, this time in northern Tel Aviv.
The chain's first hotel is under construction, and will be opened in 2011 in Jerusalem, at a total investment of $100 million. It is expected to be the most opulent hotel in Israel.
It is still unclear how many floors or rooms the Tel Aviv hotel will have, or whether it will feature vacation apartments. This will be only the second Waldorf Astoria built outside the United States - the first is in Saudi Arabia.
There are two Ritz hotels also being built in Israel - one in Herzliya and one in Tel Aviv, and a Four Seasons Hotel planned for Jerusalem's German Colony.
