Jerusalem to Ramallah Passage Eased for Arabs

While the Kalandia crossing between Jerusalem received attention recently for attempts by Arabs to go to Jerusalem in a disorderly fashion, Israel opened two more lanes for pedestrians and an additional lane for public transportation in the direction of Ramallah during December. The new lanes are open between 6:00 and 10:00 a.m., the peak hours at the crossing in both directions.

While the expansion is basically intended for Jerusalem Arabs with contacts, such as family, work and school in Ramallah, it will also serve to speed things up for wounded people and other medical emergencies, as well as the passage of very important people.
